Hand Tied Extensions
THE BASICS
Hand Tied Extensions are a COMMITMENT ! Proper care is required to keep your natural hair both safe and healthy, as well as the extension hair.
Wondering what you’ll need? Basics include a extension friendly hair brush, salon quality hair products, a satin pillow case, and knowledge about extension care!
What salon products do you recommend?
I recommend Unite hair care products to all my clients. Unite is a luxury quality product that I not only use at my salon but at home. You can purchase Unite products directly from me.
What is considered a “extension friendly brush”?
The Babe Hair Extension Brush is my #1 recommendation for my clients with sewn in wefts. I find this brush specifically protects the hair and keeps hair detangled. I am also able to order these for clients. It is important to brush your hair gently and I also recommend holding your weft while brushing.
I am LOVING my new hand tied extensions, now how do I sleep with them?
Getting your beauty rest is important! Don’t forget to take care of your hair before bed. Put your hair into a protective style at night to protect your extensions and prevent tension on the scalp. I also recommend a high quality satin pillowcase to prevent any friction on your hair during sleep. Wefts can never be slept on wet!
I am going to the beach or pool, but how do I swim with extensions?
Hand tied extensions should NEVER be submerged in a body of water of any kind. If you would like to swim, your hair must be kept out of the water with a protective style or swim cap. If you absolutely must submerge your head in water, wet your hair with non-chlorinated fresh water and apply conditioner before putting it in two low braids. Hair should be washed immediately after being in a body of water. Your extensions can never be slept on wet! make sure they are completely dry before bed.
ANY CLIENT THAT SUMBMERGES EXTENSION HAIR IN WATER ACKNOWLEDGES THAT THEY MAY CAUSE DAMAGE TO THEIR HAIR.
How often should my hair be moved up? What if I need help between move ups?
Your first move up should be within 6-8 weeks of your extension install to inspect the health of your hair. Move up needs may vary depending on the clients needs. If you have any questions or concerns please reach out!
